it’s a tired timid retelling of a dangerous wreck metal and glass crash over and over protect your neck from the razors and rejects and hopelessly boring the winners and retreads of the red white and gory (cuz)it’s gonna get worse before it gets better she’s gonna get away and you gotta let her you’re gonna get sad and you might like it yeah you’re gonna get sad before you get high they’re lighting firecrackers down at the park better lock your doors after it gets dark the teens are out and they’re looking for blood no one can save you no one would if they could (cuz)it’s gonna get worse before it gets better she’s gonna get away and you gotta let her you’re gonna get sad and you might like it yeah you’re gonna get sad before you get high lackluster lazy and useless morose and macabre just a handful of words of the month from the couch where you do your job (cuz)it’s gonna get worse before it gets better she’s gonna get away and you gotta let her you’re gonna get sad and you might like it yeah you’re gonna get sad before you get high

Swore it’d be different Sacto’s the same Ink up your forearms Ask her for another name Aint bought a ticket Or put paper to pen Making all the hard choices Bacardi or rent again Cant put out the fire Cant put out the flame We’re capitol tired of changing the name Nothing left to say It’s all been said Lady Liberty O Sister, Sacramento is Dead The sound of a voice The look on a face Eyes from a train The feel of a place You hardly ever knew

Drop Out 03:08
He writes left handed But he hits with both Loves his kids and his liquor and his leftover lunch Fixes the trucks That dig the holes He needs some fixin But he don’t tell a soul Takes it so seriously And he’s seriously broke Takes the pain Like life is but a joke It’s all a dream It seems Till it Hits The wall The kids in school They write their goddam stories They don’t know shit Wide awake and boring Takes it so seriously And he’s seriously broke Takes the pain Like life is but a joke It’s all a dream It seems Till it Hits The wall He was a dropout And now he’s a dad It’s the best job he’ll ever have But he’ll never know Till it’s too late It’s too late

about

#1 in our Quarantine EP series

Well, we did it. 2020 is almost in the rearview mirror. Remember rear view mirrors? No? They were these things on cars. Remember cars? We drove in them, sometimes with up to six or seven people all shoved up against each other, to places we'd never been before and we'd sleep in beds we didn't know who had slept in (or sneezed in) the night before. Wild times.

Back in January, we started working on new material to take back to MN and record a follow up to Human Alien Society. By February we had about twenty songs and by March we...found out we wouldn't be going to MN again, or anywhere, anytime soon.

We kept writing anyway. Swapping tracks over the Intertubes and by November we had somewhere around seventy on the pile. We considered holding onto them till next year when we could record again. We considered building a small boat out of them. We considered using them for kindling. Matt suggested we build an effigy of Henry Kissinger out of them and while it sounded like a great idea at the time we had to remind him that was not possible over Zoom. He might still be mad about that one and reasonably so. After a long virtual candlelit bath slash band meeting slash group therapy session we hashed out a plan we could all agree on and that the CDC would also approve of.

Over the next few months, or until we're allowed outside again, we're going to release a few of our favorites in small doses. Here is the first dose, available at all your favorite streamers: Metal Rat Party.

Until we meet again, be safe, wear a mask, and keep washing your dirty, dirty hands.

Katie's Money Brooklyn, New York

Matthew Gunn Park and Andy Hopper split the duties of frontman and tunesmith as they "rejoice in riding the schism between the familiar and the unusual" while delivering "persuasive vocals and infectious melodies." Along with drummer Paddy Murphy, Katie's Money "spends a good deal of its time navigating the divide between the playful and the sincere, the complex and the simple. ... more
